Oregon State University attains coveted arboretum status

Despite many changes over the decades, countless generations of Beavers have experienced the same beautiful greenery on the OSU Corvallis campus during the last 150+ years. Now, the tree-filled campus has officially rooted its reputation through a formal accreditation process with the ArbNet Arboretum Accreditation Program. With over 65,000 trees and shrubs and a rich, well-documented history of its woody plant collection — identified and labelled last year by horticulture graduate student Dan Blanchard — OSU is officially recognized as an arboretum.
