Trent Bray tabbed for Beaver Football head coach

On Tuesday, Nov. 28, Trent Bray, ’07, one of the most notable defensive players in Oregon State University history, was named the Beavers’ next head football coach. Bray's elevation as Oregon State's 32nd head coach comes after two-and-a-half seasons as the Beavers' defensive coordinator, where he has turned the program's defense into one of the top units in the nation.

Beaver Men’s Soccer advance to College Cup

There are endless reasons to be a proud Beaver. This weekend, the Oregon State Men's Soccer team booked a spot in the College Cup for the first time in program history with a 1-0 win over North Carolina Saturday afternoon in Chapel Hill, N.C. Oregon State will now face Notre Dame in the semi-finals of the NCAA Tournament Friday, Dec. 8, in Louisville. Stay tuned to OSUBeavers.com for updates on the game time.

» OSU will receive $6.5 million over five years to help modernize the geospatial coordinate system, which underpins surveying, mapping, autonomous vehicle navigation, precision agriculture and the rest of the nation’s geospatial economy. Its last major update was four decades ago.

» Two OSU College of Engineering faculty members are partnering with NASA on a $525,000 National Science Foundation project that will send microbes to space to see how they grow in low gravity.

» Oregon State University has named its first tribal relations director: Chance White Eyes, ’07, returns to OSU after serving as an assistant professor of Native American studies at Southern Oregon University.

» The U.S. Department of Defense has awarded College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences Associate Professor James Watson $1.4 million over three years to predict how climate change could lead to conflicts over fishing rights.

» Congratulations to Lois and Dave Cho, ’18, the cofounders of CHO Wines, who were named to Wine Enthusiast’s Future 40 Tastemakers of 2023 list.

» The U.S. Department of Agriculture has awarded $2 million to OSU researchers to look for new ways to prevent organic potatoes from spoiling.

32nd Annual Tuba Christmas Concert | Dec. 16

For decades, OSU music faculty and band members have lent their talent to this free annual concert of nearly 300 tuba, euphonium and baritone horn musicians belting out holiday classics that draws people from all over to Pioneer Courthouse Square in Downtown Portland. The OSU Foundation proudly sponsors this event to cover the registration fees of the musicians, allowing them to participate for free.
