» The Beavers Without Borders program enabled 16 student-athletes and OSU Athletics staff to visit La Paloma, a community in the Dominican Republic, where they helped construct additional rooms in an orphanage resulting in space for 30 more kids to thrive in a safe and caring environment for years to come. » Oregon State pitchers Ethan Kleinschmit and Dax Whitney are competing for Team USA at the Collegiate National Team Training Camp, underway now through July 3, at USA Baseball’s national training complex in North Carolina. Go Beavs!

» As the blockbuster hit Jaws turned 50 in June, OSU’s renowned shark researchers used the moment to spotlight sharks’ vital role in ocean health. Hear from James Sulikowski, director of the Coastal Oregon Marine Experiment Station, and Taylor Chapple, co-lead of the Big Fish Lab, in this ABC News interview.
» Congratulations, Brenna Prevelige, Ph.D. ’28, Sahana Shah, ’24, and Kenneth Kang, ’24! The three OSU students and recent graduates are finalists for the 2025-26 Fulbright U.S. Student Program, meaning they’ll be funded to travel and conduct research abroad for a year.
» Super snack: A new study from OSU showed that just two ounces of almonds daily (around 45 nuts) improved cardiometabolic and gut health. Next, Endowed Chair and Director of the Linus Pauling Institute Emily Ho plans to examine the impact of walnuts on age-related memory and cognition.
» New research, led by Gaurav Sahay from the OSU College of Pharmacy, found a new type of nanoparticle that can transport genetic therapies directly to the lungs, opening promising possibilities for treating lung cancer and cystic fibrosis.
