» Triple-major honors grad Jesse A. Rodríguez, ’18, has returned to OSU, bringing his passion for nuclear fusion and student mentorship full circle. Now the Nesbitt Faculty Scholar in Energy Engineering and assistant professor of mechanical engineering, he’s leading his own research lab, focused on advancing plasma technologies and inspiring the next generation of engineers.

» Researchers from OSU’s College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences, led by postdoctoral researcher Cheng Li and distinguished professor emerita Clare Reimers, discovered a new electricity-conducting bacteria that could usher in a new era of bioelectronic devices for use in medicine, industry, food safety and environmental monitoring and cleanup.

» Kaitlin Fogg, assistant professor of bioengineering, uses an innovative program of research in tissue modeling to better understand diseases like endometriosis and ovarian cancer — helping improve women’s health treatments long overlooked in medical research.

» Nadia Singh, associate dean of inclusive excellence and faculty affairs in OSU’s College of Agricultural Sciences, recently became the 159th OSU researcher named an American Association for the Advancement of Science Fellow, recognizing her distinguished work in evolutionary genetics and leadership in diversifying the scientific workforce.
