Pitmasters, pints and prizes — let’s kick off game day right! Join us before Beaver Football smokes San Jose State on the field. Featuring a barbecue battle between pro pitmasters and OSU’s own Army ROTC contenders, veteran-owned brews, a limited-edition flavor of Beaver Classic ice cream, live music, a color guard ceremony and free swag for veterans and the first 200 guests, this is a celebration with bite!

» A team of five Oregon State engineering graduates set a new land speed record for 50cc motorcycles at Speed Week 2024 at the Bonneville Salt Flats.

» Alan Mix, a Distinguished Professor Emeritus of the College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences, was awarded the prestigious 2024 Maurice Ewing Medal from the American Geophysical Union for his decades of research and significant contributions to the world’s understanding of the climate.

» Oregon State University reached nearly 38,000 students this fall, marking the 28th consecutive year of enrollment growth — a unique achievement among public R1 research universities in the U.S.

» Distinguished Professor in the College of Health and Director of the Linus Pauling Institute, Emily Ho, was featured in the New York Times, highlighting the health benefits of broccoli: its cancer-fighting properties, heart health support and recommendations for how much to eat for maximum effect.

» A group of OSU students is fighting hunger in Benton County through the Corvallis Food Project, a student-led organization that has gathered 2,200 pounds of food since 2022.

» Oregon State senior Dylan Black has been named a semifinalist for the prestigious Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Award, recognizing his exceptional leadership and sportsmanship on and off the field. One of the nation’s top long snappers, he is a two-time Academic Honor Roll selection and has participated in service projects overseas through Beavers Without Borders.

» Fabian Straudi, Men’s Soccer, set the Oregon State record for consecutive games with a point, scoring at least one point in eight straight games — Go Beavs!

» OSU Women’s Track and Field has released its 2024-25 indoor schedule, featuring four local meets in Washington, along with several other opportunities in Boston and Nevada to go all the way to the NCAA Championships in March.
