» Oregon State researcher Tala Navab-Daneshmand, from the College of Engineering, has received a $2.35 million EPA grant to investigate how wastewater affects the spread of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, a growing health issue that makes infections harder to treat and poses risks to both people and the environment.
» The largest dam removal project in U.S. history is now complete. Oregon State faculty, students and alumni made significant contributions to the effort, with researchers leading interdisciplinary teams to study the Klamath River's recovery, solve the complex engineering problems of the dam removal and integrate traditional ecological knowledge with scientific research.
» Ellen Waterston, an award-winning poet and instructor at OSU-Cascades, has been named Oregon's 11th Poet Laureate by Governor Tina Kotek, a two-year appointment. She is recognized for her immense contributions to Oregon’s literary landscape.
» The Oregon Coastal Futures Project, led by OSU researchers, Extension specialists and students, is one of four regional winners of the Outreach Scholarship W.K. Kellogg Foundation Engagement Award for its vital work in helping coastal communities adapt to natural hazards.
» Governor Tina Kotek has appointed new members to the Oregon State University Board of Trustees: Lisa Hale, CEO of Grace Bio-Labs; Toby Luther, CEO of Lone Rock Resources; and Camille Palmer, associate professor and associate school head of nuclear science and engineering. Their diverse expertise will help govern the university and support OSU's mission to advance education and community impact.
