Public health leader will speak at OSU’s 2023 commencement ceremony

A public health leader and steadfast public servant, Dean helped guide the state of California’s strategic response to the COVID-19 pandemic and is CEO and founder of The Public Health Company, which helps enterprises manage bio-risks at scale.

» Kayla Clemens, a nuclear engineering doctoral student, is translating theory into practice by developing software to advance neutron transport capabilities. Watch a video about her research and the opportunities afforded by her grad school experience at OSU.

» Jana Doppa, Ph.D. ’15, has been elected as a senior member of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence, recognizing his renown in the field of AI.

» Wanting to support the institution that brought them together, Ron, M.S. ’71, Ph.D. ’74, and Ann Berg, ’73, have endowed a new microbiology lecture series which will feature noted microbiologists from outside OSU.

» The average person spends one-third of their waking hours at work. That’s why Satoris “Tori” Howes, as a Toomey Faculty Fellow in the College of Business, hopes her research will be applied to create healthier workplaces everywhere.

Spring is off to an “eggcellent” start!

Did you get a chance to watch OSU Extension’s baby chicks hatch via livestream this spring? Once those chicks are big enough, they go home with OSU Extension 4-H members, who will care for them and show them at county and state fairs.
