College of Engineering to develop zero-emission SuperTruck
Funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, researchers from the College of Engineering are partnering with Portland-based Daimler Trucks North America to develop a zero-emission long-haul truck that will reduce the footprint of the transportation industry, the U.S. leader in carbon pollution among all economic sectors.
Revisions to GI Bill would benefit online students
Shannon Riggs, an executive director at OSU Ecampus, co-presented at a national conference to raise awareness of the shortcomings of the GI Bill for online students, who receive significantly less in GI Bill housing allowance than their on-campus counterparts.
Discovering the impacts of plastic pollution
Professor Susanne Brander, a toxicologist in the Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport, is studying how microscopic bits of plastic are affecting aquatic environments, animals and fish. Her research is part of a growing database that encourages consistency in nationwide efforts to reduce plastic pollution.
Remembering Beaver legend Andy Landforce
Andy Landforce, '42, was an OSU community treasure: The oldest living member of the 1942 Rose Bowl team, he was a former student body president, the longest season ticket holder for OSU Football and worked 35 years at OSU. He passed just before his 106th birthday.
