Beaver engineers outpace the competition
At the 2022 Formula SAE Michigan competition — where college race car engineers have their vehicles judged on speed, efficiency, cost-effectiveness and more — Oregon State’s Global Formula Racing Club placed fourth overall, first in acceleration and autocross and second in skidpad. Next, their cars will head overseas to race in European competitions!
Nine OSU faculty earn Fulbright awards
A record nine Oregon State faculty received Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program awards for 2022-23, exceeding OSU’s previous high of eight honorees and making OSU a “top producing” university. In the coming year, these nine faculty members will extend their research and impact through new global collaborations.
Students earn silver for advancing green energy
Among 17 teams from five countries, Oregon State placed second in the Department of Energy’s 2022 Marine Energy Collegiate Competition, designed to produce new ideas for harnessing wave energy. Oregon State was well represented by 22 students across engineering, business and liberal arts.
Ecampus’ Lisa L. Templeton set to head international higher ed board
A longtime innovator for adult learners as the OSU Ecampus associate provost, Lisa L. Templeton, was recently elected as the new board president of the University Professional and Continuing Education Association, which boasts more than 400 institutional members worldwide.
