Corvallis-based alumna supports Ukrainian sister city
Since March, Hannah Bittner Zurjanova, ’14, and her husband Misha Zyryanov have spent upwards of 8 hours per day delivering supplies and providing aid to refugees in Uzhhorod, Ukraine, a sister city to Corvallis. Their efforts are funded by donations, mostly from the Corvallis area and coordinated by Hannah’s father, Steve Bittner, B.S. ’80, M.Ed. ’90.
Making OSU a “land of opportunity”
Dorian Smith, ’09, M.A.I.S. ’17, director of the new Griggs Center for Black and Indigenous Student Success, knows it’s not enough for OSU to simply attract diverse students. It takes mentorship, philanthropy and community-building to help them thrive — and he’s helping coordinate all three.
Math alumna is motivated to break barriers

Faucett established the College of Science Rise Scholarship, the first Oregon State scholarship exclusively serving students with disabilities.
