OSU in the Portland Rose Festival parade | June 6

Come cheer on Oregon State as Beavers parade by in the newly combined Grand Floral Starlight Parade — the OSU Foundation and Alumni Association, OSU Extension and Engagement and Oregon State University are also proud sponsors for this Portland community tradition. Pick the perfect spot along the downtown route or tune into a live broadcast to watch as the new two-phase celebration shifts from daytime floats and pageantry to an illuminated spectacle when darkness falls.

» Testing in the shifting white sands of New Mexico, OSU researchers are helping a four-legged, dog-like robot gather data that will train it to be the next evolution of NASA’s off-Earth exploration, especially future Mars missions.

» An incredible milestone: Donors have given more than $400 million toward Oregon State’s $500 million goal for student success, the largest priority within the $1.75 billion Believe It campaign and one part of a multifaceted approach to increase graduation rates to 80%.

» OSU Emeritus Professor of Coastal Engineering Harry Yeh has made waves by earning the 2026 International Coastal Engineering Award. His four-decade career helped build the foundation of tsunami early warning systems, leaving coastal communities better prepared for life-saving responses and resilience.

» Up against programs from five states, OSU student media brought home major regional awards, including wins in feature photography and videography and best all-around student newspaper for The Daily Barometer.

» Backed by a $500,000 USDA grant, Oregon State’s SMILE program will collaborate with Oregon educators to expand agriculture and biotechnology learning in K–12 classrooms statewide, expanding access to related college and career pathways.

» Shortly after Beaver Softball star second baseman Jaeya Butler shattered the single season record for home runs, she became the first in the program to win the coveted title of West Coast Conference Player of the Year.

» For the second consecutive year, Beaver Women’s Rowing dominated at the West Coast Conference Championship in May, sweeping all eight races and punching their ticket to the NCAA Championship held last weekend in Georgia. The program ended its championship season in 17th place, besting last year's performance.

» Beaver Baseball made a program-record ninth consecutive (and 25th all-time) NCAA postseason appearance at the Eugene Regional last Friday and closed their season with a 45-14 record.
