Make your voice heard for OSU priorities

Join fellow Beavers in advocating for funding and resources that help Oregon State students, communities and statewide programs thrive. The Beaver Caucus provides customizable letters to help you easily send a message to your legislators on the issues you care about.

Take action:

  • Support Oregon students by urging legislators to protect the Oregon Opportunity Grant and prioritize higher education funding.
  • Champion OSU-Cascades by advocating for $42 million in state support for the completion of the Student Health and Recreation Center.
  • Strengthen OSU Statewides and Extension by encouraging legislators to continue funding already allocated for programs serving Oregon’s farms, forests, fisheries, youth and families.

» Undergraduate oceanography student Maya Moran spent a month aboard an Arctic research vessel collecting sediment data, an extraordinary field experience that’s now fueling her honors thesis. “Research days at sea are pretty valuable for an undergrad, and it's so rare.”

» At the Gary R. Carlson, MD, College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Andrea Erickson brings rare expertise as one of fewer than 100 surgical oncology fellows worldwide and is advancing life-extending cancer care for pets.

» Psychology doctoral student Ruth Brombach is uncovering how social media and the “fear of missing out” disrupt young adults’ sleep, offering new insight into how digital habits shape mental and physical wellbeing.

» From first-gen student to Global Brand President and CEO of Athleta, Maggie Gauger, ’97, credits OSU with helping her develop the grit, independence and accountability that propelled her to the top of a global women’s performance apparel brand.

Beaver-powered tax help

Have you heard of Oregon State’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program? VITA volunteers — many of them OSU students gaining real-world experience and training — provide free tax help for individuals and families with qualifying incomes, including students new to filing, community members facing accessibility or language barriers and people age 60 and over. Appointments are available in Corvallis, Bend and Eugene.
