» A research team including Perry Hystad, Andrew Larkin and Matt Bozigar from OSU’s College of Health received $3.86 million to use AI to study how airborne allergens like pollen and mold affect people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Their work could help predict, prevent and alert patients to “bad air days.”

» Students in OSU-Cascades’ new accountancy program will benefit from a generous gift from Bend business leader Lance Brant, ’91. The expanded programming emphasizes hands-on learning and aims to better prepare students to jump straight into successful careers in Central Oregon and beyond.

» CEOAS master’s student Giulia Wood is OSU’s first Marshall Scholar. As a result of her impressive research experience — including a trip to Antarctica to study krill with Professor Kim Bernard’s all-women team — Wood was selected as one of 43 scholars for this prestigious award.

» OSU has launched a small animal ER at the Lois Bates Acheson Veterinary Teaching Hospital. This new emergency service for cats and dogs will ensure beloved pets can receive top-notch care for emergent issues, 24/7.

» OSU engineers are taking on the challenging task of designing robots capable of picking fruit. In this video, College of Engineering Associate Professor Joe Davidson showcases a robot prototype that uses a mix of cameras and tools to pluck an apple off a tree.
