Hands-on career pathways for veterans

Through Oregon State’s new VETS-UP workforce partnership program, veterans and military-connected students are gaining hands-on semiconductor training with industry leader Analog Devices. The program opens doors to high-demand careers and helps translate military experience into careers in Oregon’s growing tech sector.

» A new OSU study by Kyriakos Stylianou in the College of Science is taking a big step toward making lighting and display technology — which contribute heavily to global energy consumption — roughly four times as energy efficient.

» No learning opportunity gone to waste: OSU geologists harnessed the controlled Reser Stadium implosion in 2022 to better understand Corvallis’ underground landscape and how it responds to seismic activity, providing insights that could guide future construction and earthquake preparedness. 

» Congratulations to OSU Foundation Lifetime Trustee Patricia Valian Reser ’60, ’19 (Hon. Ph.D.), on receiving the History Makers Award from the Oregon Historical Society, which honors individuals who have profoundly shaped Oregon’s history, culture and landscape.
