Parents and families: Experience Beaver Nation through your student’s eyes during Fall Family Weekend. Join the OSU Alumni Association for signature events including the free Fall Parent and Family Social on Friday, and Beavs, Brews & BBQs and Tailgate Town on Saturday before the Beavers vs. Sam Houston game. Across campus, fun recreation activities, fitness classes, bowling and golf are open to families. Provost’s Lecture welcomes Margot Lee Shetterly, author of Hidden Figures | Oct. 28

Join the Provost’s Office and the OSU Foundation for an inspiring evening with Margot Lee Shetterly, founder of the Human Computer Project and author of Hidden Figures: The American Dream and the Untold Story of the Black Women Mathematicians Who Helped Win the Space Race — an instant New York Times bestseller adapted into 2016’s academy award-nominated film. Breast Cancer Awareness Month panel with OSU health experts | Oct. 30

Explore the American Southwest with OSU geology expert | Nov. 4

Join Professor Emeritus Andrew Meigs online for a Travel Talk webcast exploring the red rock landscapes of Moab, Arches and Canyonlands national parks. Meigs shares the geologic stories behind these iconic sites and insights to prepare for the April 2026 Alumni Group Travel adventure, which he is set to accompany.

» Oregon State University’s research enterprise surpassed $400 million in funding for the second year in a row, advancing discoveries in clean energy, AI, precision medicine, coastal resilience and more. The 2025 Research and Innovation Annual Report highlights the ingenuity and collaboration of faculty and OSU innovators striving to make communities stronger, healthier and more sustainable.

» With 38,460 students enrolled this fall, Oregon State continues its 12-year streak as the state’s largest university and marks its 29th consecutive year of growth.

» FAST, a semiconductor innovation coalition led by OSU, is a finalist in the National Science Foundation’s Regional Innovation Engines competition. If selected, the project could receive up to $160 million to accelerate AI-enhanced chip design, skilled workforce development and economic growth across Oregon.

» Steve Gass, ’86, is on a mission to make table saws safer. His invention, SawStop, instantly halts a spinning blade when it senses flesh, preventing serious injuries — and has already protected the fingers of thousands of users.
