» Naomi Fitter, Kearney Faculty Scholar and associate professor of robotics, received a prestigious National Science Foundation CAREER Award that will support her research to design and study assistive robotics that help older adults stay healthy and independent. In a new video, hear her discuss her lab’s findings about human-robot interactions and designing inviting robot forms.

» Students will soon have new opportunities to gain real-world experience: OSU-Cascades has been tapped for a selective national career accelerator program that will help align student career preparation with regional workforce needs.

» The flexibility of OSU Ecampus means learning can happen anywhere. Josh Misko, ’24, balanced a touring musician’s life with coursework, and used his education to venture into the intersection of music, technology and business as co-founder of Seatfun, a fast-growing ticketing and marketing company.

» Out of more than 150 chapters nationwide, the OSU chapter of the Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science earned 2025 Chapter of the Year.

» Meaningful Marketplace, cohosted by Sarah Masoni, director of product and process development at the OSU Food Innovation Center, is a finalist in the 2025 Signal Listener’s Choice Award in the Best Indie Podcast category. Public voting is open until Oct. 9.

» Beaver Nation was Dam Proud to see OSU Women’s Track and Field/Cross-Country alumni and former teammates Grace Fetherstonhaugh and Kaylee Mitchell on the world stage, earning their places at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo in September 2025.

» Go Beavs! Oregon State Volleyball pushed their winning streak to five with a win over the University of San Francisco Dons.

» Congrats to Sara Sanders (track and field) and Wilson Weber (baseball), who earned Tom Hansen Medals: a prestigious Pac-12 award recognizing student-athletes who exhibit the greatest combination of scholarly, athletic and leadership excellence.

» John Valva, vice president of alumni relations and executive director of OSU Alumni Association, and Kathryn Everson, assistant professor in the College of Science, Oregon State University, represented Beaver Nation by telling the story of the platypus trophy in ESPN’s latest feature.
