Ready to Respond: A Training to Help Save Lives

In honor of Oregon State University's commitment to fostering connections, generating awareness, showing respect and promoting empathy, the OSU College of Health and the OSU Extension's Family and Community Health program are hosting a training where you can learn skills that will help you remain ready to respond to help someone in crisis.

Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) is an evidence-based suicide prevention curriculum that teaches individuals to identify the signs and symptoms of someone who may be at risk, and to confidently offer immediate support and referrals. QPR is a learning and skill-building experience for people who have had limited training or information about suicide prevention, and who are feeling like they want to be able to do something useful to help others who may be suffering. Attendees will participate in a 90-minute training with certified QPR trainers and receive a QPR Gatekeeper certification in the mail.

Date: Thursday, February 29, 2024
Time: 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm
Location: Virtual (link to be provided shortly)

Please note: Every person attending QPR needs to register separately.
