Farrington Named Pac-12 Player of the Year

CORVALLIS – Oregon State forward Logan Farrington has been named Pac-12 Player of the Year, the conference office announced today as it released its annual postseason awards.
 
Farrington leads a contingent of six Beavers to receive recognition, as he was selected as Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year, in addition to All-Conference First Team honors. Joining him on the Pac-12 First Team are Javier Armas and Luis Castillo. Ellis Spikner made the All-Pac-12 Second Team, while Arnau Farnos and Dante Williams earned Honorable Mention.
 
Farrington is Oregon State's fifth all-time Pac-12 Player of the Year and the program's third in the last four seasons (Danny Mwanga – 2009, Khiry Shelton – 2014, Sofiane Djeffal – 2021, Joran Gerbet – 2022). The forward led the Pac-12 this season with 11 goals, and finished first in the conference with 26 points. Heading into the postseason Farrington is tied for sixth on Oregon State's single-season goals list. This marks the Racine, Wis. native's fourth ever All-Conference honor, as he was an All-Horizon League selection the last three seasons as a player at Milwaukie.
 
Armas earns All-Pac-12 honors for the second-straight year, after being tabbed as a Second Team selection last year. The Spaniard has started all 16 matches he has played this season, and has recorded a total of three assists.
 
Castillo is the first ever Oregon State goalkeeper to earn All-Pac-12 First Team recognition. The sophomore started 11 matches in goal, holding four clean sheets. He has made a total of 24 saves this campaign.
 
Ellis Spikner has three goals and one assist this season, having started 12 of his 16 games played. Overall he's has scored six goals over the course of 36 career matches.
 
Arnau Farnos has made 15 starts this season, as he makes his return to play after missing much of last season due to injury. Farnos has scored three goals and notched four assists this year, including the game-winner against California.
 
Williams earns Pac-12 Honorable Mention for the second-straight season. He has three goals and four assists on the year, and has made a total of 13 starts.
 
Oregon State will open the NCAA Tournament on Thursday when Seattle U visits Lorenz Field.
