COVID-19

•    •    •    •    •

» Oregon State’s TRACE-COVID-19 project is striving for a more complete picture of the virus’ presence by adding saliva sampling to detect COVID-19 antibodies, in addition to testing for active infections.

» Wastewater testing by TRACE shows that the infection level among unvaccinated people — approximately one-third of Oregonians — is as high as it’s ever been, allowing for concerning virus variants to mutate and spread.

» Oregon’s Latinx communities have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic, and OSU Extension Service is ramping up outreach and support to improve vaccine confidence and increase Latinx vaccination percentages statewide.

The music still rises

In a year that left OSU choral musicians unable to gather together in person, they persisted and found ways to keep safely singing. In their homes, outdoors, in tents and recording booths, the OSU choirs lifted their voices to bring Beaver Nation the President’s Concert 2021 in a digital format that represents the challenges overcome.
